2025 Met opera Grant

Dennis Chmelensky has been awarded a 2025 Ed Fund Grant by the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. The grant is given to select alumni who competed at the national level and auditioned for the Metropolitan Opera’s Artistic Staff, recognizing their continued progress and achievement. A proud 2022 semifinalist, Dennis is honored by the Met’s support.

Previously, he received a grant in 2023 that enabled him to audition for theaters across Europe, leading to professional debuts with Tiroler Festspiele Erl and Oper Frankfurt. That same year, he also participated in the DAS LIED competition with pianist William Woodard in Heidelberg, Germany; presented a Christmas program at the Berliner Philharmonie with the Berliner Oratorien-Chor; and gave recitals at the Universität der Künste in Berlin and in Athens, Greece, with Curtis on Tour.
